Emdin’s USA Baby Moves Warehouse & Showroom under Same Roof

Former Furniture Showplace becomes new home for the expanding children’s retailer

Grand Rapids, MI, October 4, 2005 – For the first time in 15 years Emdin’s USA Baby warehouse and retail showroom will be under one roof. Emdin’s USA Baby has purchased a new, larger location at 2885 Lake Eastbrook Blvd., SE in Grand Rapids.

The 26,000 square foot showroom was formerly Furniture Showplace for the past 15 years. Emdin’s USA Baby will occupy 16,000 square feet of the total space, leaving an additional 10,000 square feet available for lease. The new space is about 25% larger than their previous location allowing for expansion of their selection of nursery and big kids’ furniture.

The expansion and relocation of both warehouse and showroom creates greater convenience for transporting of furniture and for customer pick-up, as well as simplifying material handling. Dennis Bates, owner of Emdin’s USA Baby, said that the increased floor space will require an increase in staff positions.

The USA Baby franchise has 60 locations throughout the nation. They are the nation’s largest franchise specializing in the sales of baby furniture and accessories. The Grand Rapids location is locally owned and operated and has been serving Grand Rapids as Emdin’s and Emdin’s USA Baby for nearly 60 years.
