Since 1949, Jerry’s Tire has grown to be one of the largest farm and truck tire dealers in the Great Lakes Region. Just in Lake Odessa alone, their inventory covers 7 acres and runs from the smallest wheelbarrow size to the largest off road tires made. They also stock tires for passenger vehicles, light trucks and other assorted equipment.
An established tire dealer that in the Grand Rapids area was having problems delivering the quality of service and products that their existing clients expected. The top sales person of that company approached the owner of Jerry’s Tire, Mark Carpenter, to open up a branch location to service those customers.
The facility requirement for Jerry’s Tire was time sensitive. Chip Hurley listened to Mark regarding his specific business needs and then promptly started the site selection process and provided all of the properties that paralleled Jerry’s Tire’s needs. Over the following 60 days, Chip identified the current building on Burlingame, which had just become available for lease.
The end result was a 5 year lease for the 17,550 square foot facility that was ideally configured for tire service building. Other than some municipal zoning issues, all that was required for occupancy was to service some of the existing mechanical equipment and put a fresh coat of paint on the walls in the showroom. The business location is located in the City of Wyoming, a southwestern suburb of Grand Rapids.
“What made this transaction tough was. . . special walls, special sprinkler systems, code restrictions and other obstacles. I have truly appreciated Chip’s professionalism throughout this [process] and I would highly recommend him for any future property needs.”
